Snail UKT528 Tenor Ukulele
Snail Ukuleles offer a certain charm and warmth that can only be realised in full once you get to hold one.
They have a wonderful tone, and vary subtly with each model due to the variations of woods used on the different models such as Koa (Rosewood), Ebony, Mahogany, and Zebrawood.
This one has a Zebrawood solid top with laminate back and sides, and abalone binding. It has a warm and full tone that is a little tighter sounding than the Mahogany built uke, giving a bit more attack to the plucked string, ideal for picking out a melody line.
The build and fittings are excellent, and the uke feels well balanced and is comfortable to hold.
The die-cast tuners are of good quality and with the well cut nut, this concert uke holds it's tuning really well. With the inclusion of a free padded gig-bag, this snail is exceptional value for money, comparing well with higher priced ukuleles from other brands.
(the photos of the back of the machine heads still has the protective plastic on the centre of the machine head. They are also gold plate in colour.)
