The Custom 22 is one of the most versatile guitars in the PRS lineup. Its 85/15 "S" pickups, combined with the semi hollow construction produce a unique dynamism and snarling tone. PRS have given the SE Custom 22 a makeover with a beautiful quilted maple top and cream binding.
PRS are known mainly for their solid body Custom guitars, but they also make incredible semi-hollows as well. The tonal palette of a semi-hollow guitar adds another dimension to your playing, producing warm, sustained overtones.
Semi-hollow guitars are also a lot lighter than their solid body counterparts, so you won't be throwing out your back every time you take to the stage.
Fitted in the SE Custom 22 are a set of 85/15 "S" humbuckers, which produce a smooth, strong sound. Perfect for blues, rock, jazz and more, these pickups are voiced slightly darker than the standard 85/15s and serve up more gain than you might expect. Add in the push/pull coil split, and you have a whole host of sounds to delve into.
PRS have been making their own pickups for years now, developing them alongside some of the best guitarists in the world. So when they put their name on any electronics, you know it's something you can rely on.
Just like the solid body model, the SE semi-hollow Custom 22 is built to an incredible standard using tried and tested woods and hardware. The mahogany body and quilted maple top is simply stunning. Attached is a comfortable 'Wide Thin' carve mahogany neck, topped with a rosewood fingerboard. Just glorious to play.
