Regent 7 believes that the magic lies in the subtle (and not so subtle) variations and imperfections that ensure every guitar possesses its own unique voice and character. The aim is to capture some of this magic in each instrument.
The necks are carved by hand, following classic profiles inspired by favourite vintage examples, yet the final carve is tailored to the specific vision for each guitar. This attention to detail extends to the level of fretboard rolling, the selection of clay dot and celluloid colours, and the choice of frets. Premium, period-correct tonewoods are used for both bodies and necks, carefully selected for their weight and grain.
All pickups are hand-wound in-house at Regent 7 HQ, allowing for precise tailoring to the individual guitar. The guitars are finished in unplasticised nitrocellulose, with all tints and colours mixed by eye. Hardware and plastics are aged to complement the level of ageing required for each instrument.
When all these elements come together, the result is a guitar designed to inspire both the player and their music. This dedication to craftsmanship is what fuels Regent 7’s love for vintage guitars.
